Recent Events:

Cub Scout Day:
On Sunday October 14th, Cub Scout Pack 188 from Rochester Hills came to Bald Mt. for their annual aviation activity day. The scouts flew rubber powered rockets on a string as well as launching typical rockets. Skymasters on hand including Wade Wiley, Paul Goelz, Teo Terry, Dave Shea and Pete Foss. They flew demo flights, and gave the scouts the opportunity to fly on a buddy box with Wade’s Telemaster. A great time was had by all!

Detroit Science Center Aviation Day:
On August 19, 2007 The Detroit Science Center hosted it's first "Aviation Day". In addition to the ever-changing life science and physical science exhibits, there were several aviation-themed activities for the visitors. These included paper airplane and straw rocket challenges. The Skymasters lent a hand with Gary Weaks assisting visitors on an FSOne RC Simulator donated by Horizon Hobbies. Chris Hass wowed the crowd with several 3D electric R/C routines flown in the confines of the Science Center Cafe while Joe Hass narrated the maneuvers. There were also static displays and information sheets available to the 1800 visitors to the Detroit Science Center that day.

Annual Events:

Bald Mountain Involvement Day:
Skymasters give back to the park we call home with an annual Involvement Day. We provide the people - the park provides the tasks.  We have built fishing piers, trail bridges, storage buildings, cleared brush, painted signs, re-roofed pavilions, repaired tables, fences, and anything else the park needs...

Skymasters have participated in multiple displays in the library, providing static displays, literature, and people to answer questions.  Several aircraft mobiles from one of our members still hang in the lobby area.
