An exciting change has happened for Skymasters at the Scripps Road flying field. Effective May 1, we are now able to add an additional 4 hours of flying each day, of quiet, (under 80 dBa at 10') electrics. The established of flying time of 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (with noise limit of 94 dBa at 10') has been in place, best I know, since the field was established at its current location over 20 years ago. With the efforts of the new board members and our Park Liaison, Bill Pesch, we have been able to work out the details, and have our lease amended, with the state, to add these extra flying hours at our field. What a great opportunity on those beautiful summer mornings when there is no wind... and into the later evening until the mosquitos decide it’s time for us to leave. Congratulations Skymasters!
