Wow, what a week at the flying field… the field is in fantastic shape! The grass is green, mowed and the field is flatter than a pancake… and then some. Our runway is in GREAT shape! On Wednesday a committed team of Skymasters put in overtime and worked all day to vibratory roll the field with a 10,000-pound vibratory roller. Special thanks to Skymaster Ted Labbe for bringing both the club trailers to the field earlier in the week and then very early Wednesday morning picking up the piece of equipment over in Clarkston and hauling it to the field for the day and then returning it early the next morning. Ted not only did all that, but, then spent over three hours on his early morning shift rolling the field and one of his dogs Mika rode along with him. Thanks to Bill Pesch, Jim Vigne, Juan Lopez, Ted Labbe, and Paul Zabawa for all their hard work in ensuring we have not only a beautiful but flat runway this summer. The runway was flattened over three times for nine and a half hours. You’re going to love it… so get out there and fly!
