Remember from the movie A Christmas Story with Peter Billingsley... the dad won a major award the leg lamp... HAHA! well our club has a Major, Major Event that has been going on for 27 years this year and not to make fun of it, but it is a BIG DEAL. The Midwest Regional Float Fly, honoring former President, now in memoriam of Darrell Watts. This event has drawn national attention for years and our club has upheld this great event and hosted one of the greatest float fly’s EVER! Yes, there are others, maybe even bigger, but none quite like this one and this year is going to be great! AGAIN. We've got a great team of committed guys. Veteran MWRFF guys and gals who know the ropes and new members who are committed to making this, like all the events our club puts on, the BEST!
I want to continue to encourage all Skymasters and everyone else to get your float planes ready for September 9-10, 2017 at Island Lake State Recreation Area in Brighton at Kent Lake Beach. You won't find a more beautiful place to hold a float fly with 1000' of sandy beach and crystal clear smooth waters. Great RV/camper camping available wonderful facilities, great food, local hotels/motels, awesome viewing and a great family friendly environment for the whole weekend.
We opened our online registration the other day and we had a record number sign up day one… how great is that…! It’s going to be a great MWRFF year! Mark your calendar… print out or pick up one of the flyers and affix it to your fridge and make your plans to attend the Skymasters Midwest Regional Float Fly 2017. We’re already excited and planning for your to be there!
